There’s no shame in admitting it. Of course you should take pride in the content you create, but pride does not generate any MRR for your business. That’s where actionable tactics to increase your site traffic come into play.
It’s simple math: more traffic = more leads, and more leads means more dollars flowing into your business. More traffic also allows for you to see how well your marketing strategy is working. Additionally, the more traffic you get the more quickly your search rank improves, and from there it’s a self-feeding cycle. Content is still king, and well-crafted content that inspires an emotional response can be the differentiator between staying on your site versus never coming back.

Double down on SEO
This is a big one.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and is simply the practice of structuring and optimizing your content to rank on Google. This applies to everything from the titles of your pages all the way to the word count (and the words you use!). Good SEO means Google knows what your site is about, and where to fit it into its rankings. The better (or more remarkable) your content, the higher you’ll rank.
If only it was always that simple. SEO can get complicated by things like SERPs, or competitor research. For now just focus on optimizing that remarkable content you’ve been creating.
Simply put: you should focus on the basics of SEO because if the content of your website and blog posts is not optimized, you will struggle to be found in search results. You may think that SEO doesn’t apply to your business, but let’s face it: even if your business comes from referrals and networking chances are those prospects are searching in Google as well and if you’re not found your business is going to be irrelevant.
SEO can sound pretty technical, but remember really it’s all about knowing what keywords your prospects are searching for, creating content around them, and ensuring that content is optimized for the web.
Get social… really social
Publishing high-quality content is not enough. If you want people to find your content and share it with their networks, you have to tap into social media. One of the most cost-effective marketing tactics to maximize your exposure is through social media.
You have to customize the content you distribute on each channel. Think about what messages are suitable for each platform. Then create a message that will resonate with that specific audience.
Furthermore, pay extra attention to your social media posts scheduling. By sharing your posts on the right day and time, you can boost your traffic significantly. But first, study your analytics before you decide when is the best time to share your post.
Once you have determined the right day and time for your posts to go out, make sure you stick to it. Consistency is key to succeeding in social media. From your schedule to your content, you have to be consistent so you can target the right people at the right time.
Invest in email
Email marketing remains one of the best communication modes for businesses and customers. It may seem outdated, but email is still one of the best ways to reach your prospects and move them down the funnel.
It is also one of the most lucrative marketing methods. You show your brand to your target audience with each newsletter you send. You also create value when you regularly submit precious content. It’s also important to plan your emails carefully and mix up your content so it doesn’t get dull. You must offer extra value besides just sending out sales messages. The emails should grab the attention of your clients and ensure the emails are something they enjoy reading.
When it comes to driving new visitors to your website, the right strategy is always “it depends.” Not every method of driving traffic that was mentioned above will work for every business.
The only real way to find out if a traffic acquisition strategy will work for you is to try it, decide what “success” would look like, and then analyze the results. Anyone claiming they have a strategy for traffic acquisition that works for every business clearly hasn’t put it to the test.
